(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A local automotive mechanic is offering a reward to anybody who can help track down the person who stole hundreds of tools from his home.
“They wiped me clean,” said Mark Jones.
Jones has been a mechanic at a number of auto shops in Dearborn County for many years. During that time, he’s accumulated a number of tools of the trade and kept them in his personal garage at his home on George Street in Lawrenceburg.
Somebody broke into Jones’ garage sometime between 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 2 and 6:30 a.m. Monday, June 3. Mark estimates that over $20,000 worth of tools such as welders, wrenches, air compressors, drill presses, a floor jack and more were taken.
“Some of that stuff belonged to my dad and I got it when he passed away,” Jones said.
Jones said there may be a reward for anybody who provides information leading to an arrest and conviction.
Lawrenceburg Police are investigating the burglary. People with information on the case can call Lt./Det. Donald Combs at the police department, (812) 537-2284.
