(Aurora, Ind.) - Aurora Firefighters are investigating the cause of a Memorial Day weekend house fire.
The blaze was reported at about 4:56 p.m. Friday at 105 Lewis Street.
“Firefighters arriving found high heat conditions in the upper apartment of the building. Interior crews quickly extinguished the fire, limiting flame spread to one room,” said Aurora Fire Department Lt. Kevin Turner.
Nobody was home at the time. Neighbors called for help once they saw smoke coming from the home.
Damage is estimated at $25,000.
The Indiana State Fire Marshal was coming to help AFD determine a cause. Lawrenceburg Fire Department and Aurora EMS assisted at the scene.
