(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Railroad work through downtown Lawrenceburg will cause some street and crossing closures the next couple weeks.
CSX Railroad crews are replacing railroad ties and replacing railroad crossings. The City of Lawrenceburg says that the North side of Williams Street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Friday starting May 28 through June 7.
The city asks that residents and visitors not park on the North side of Williams Street during the work period. Vehicles should be parked clear of the roadway and curbs along the tracks.
Crossings on Arch, Elm, Short, Alley, and Vine streets will all be closed 24 hours a day June 2 through 7. There will be no crossing the tracks at those locations until the work has finished.
Residents with questions on the closure can contact Lawrenceburg Construction Manager Mario Todd at (812) 532-3556 or Director of Engineering Mike Clark at 532-3554.
