(Erlanger, Ky.) – Former employees of Comair, which was grounded by parent company Delta Air Lines in September, are getting help finding new jobs.
The U.S. Department of Labor announced a $2.77 million National Emergency grant to assist about 350 former Comair workers with employment services in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
The grant will be administered by the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.
“Workers who have the skills and training employers need right now have greater success finding jobs,” said acting Secretary of Labor Seth D. Harris. “The federal grant announced today will help former Comair workers better position themselves for available jobs in growing industries.”
About $1.35 million will be initially released from the Labor Department to Kentucky. The remaining amount will be distributed as needed.
