(Batesville, Ind.) - A woman who tried to get away with stealing thousands of dollars from a local bank will spend time in jail.

According to the Batesville Herald-Tribune, Abby Siebert, of Batesville, was sentenced in Franklin County Court last week. She received three years in jail although the county sheriff may decide to allow Siebert on a work release program.

Siebert, 25, pleaded guilty in June to four counts of Fraud and three counts of Theft.

The charges stem from allegations that Siebert stole more than $12,400 while working as an assistant manager at the Main Source Bank branch in Batesville.

Her lawyer says she has already repaid the stolen money.
