(Aurora, Ind.) – When you make a purchase at a new store in Aurora, both you and local domestic violence shelters will get something out of it.
“Empowering women to open new doors” is the motto at the Open Door Thrift Store, located on U.S. 50 in Aurora next to Family Dollar.
The boutique is a non-profit which donates its proceeds to two local shelters for abused woman and their families – Safe Passage in Batesville and the Womens Crisis Center in Hebron.
Many of the items found in the store - clothing, toys, books, movies, furniture, and appliances - have been donated by the community.
Though it has actually been open since June, the Open Door Thrift Store will celebrate its grand opening Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. each day. There will door prizes and food.
