(Cincinnati, Oh.) - A Cincinnati-area high school was on lockdown after a student attempted suicide in a classroom Monday morning.
The student apparently produced a gun and shot himself in a classroom at La Salle High School in Green Township, according to Hamilton County Sheriff's Office officials.
911 was called at about 9:15 a.m. No other injuries were reported.
The unidentified student was rushed to University Hospital where he is said to be fighting for his life.
Classes at La Salle have been cancelled for the remainder of the day. Parents of students at the all-male high school were told that should pick up their students in the school gym as soon as possible. Students who drove themselves to school were to be released later in the morning.
