Update posted at 11:19 a.m.:
A driver has been cited for an illegal pass on a school bus Thursday morning in Bright.
The Dearborn County Sheriff's deputy investigating the incident said a pickup truck driver did not see the bus on Cumberland Drive as the truck crested a hill. The pickup driver managed to swerve around the bus, barely making contact. Nobody was injured.
In fact, the contact was so minor that neither driver of the bus or truck noticed it had happened and continued on their way, the deputy said. A witness to the incident did see a portion of the truck's mirror get knocked off. That witness also provided a description of the pickup and a partial license plate number to police.
Deputies used that plate information to track down the truck and issue the citation.
An individual claiming to be the driver of the truck told Eagle 99.3 that the matter was settled after meeting with police.
