(Versailles, Ind.) - The skeletal remains of Katelyn Markham have been transported to Indianapolis.
That’s where the bones will be studied by a forensic anthropologist, who will try to deterime how Markham died. Indiana State Police say it may take up to six weeks for examinations and testing to be completed.
The 21-year-old vanished from her Fairfield, Ohio home almost two years ago. Her remains were found near Big Cedar Creek in Cedar Grove on April 7. A forensic odontologist used dental records to make a positive identification, investigators said.
ISP say they are continuing to work jointly with Farfield Police in their investigation into Markham’s death.
Anyone who has any information regarding her death is urged to call the Indiana State Police at (812) 689-5000, Fairfield Police at (513) 867-6094, or Crime Stoppers at 888-352-3040.
