(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - With a seat sitting vacant on Lawrenceburg City Council, the council will not meet until it has been filled.
Doug Taylor resigned earlier this month as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors for criminal charges he was facing.
A regular council meeting was supposed to be held next Monday, April 1, but Mayor Dennis Carr has called it off. The mayor says he wants Taylor’s at-large council seat filled so there is full representation for citizens.
Democrats are scheduled to caucus on April 10 to select a replacement. Whoever that person is, they’ll serve the remainder of Taylor’s term through 2015.
