(Hooven, Oh.) - A bicyclist is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by an SUV in Whitewater Township Wednesday.
Hamilton County sheriff's deputies say Zerrel West, 21, was riding along State Route 128 near Cilley Road in Hooven when the driver of a Jeep Cherokee lost control of the vehicle and hit him at about 2:37 p.m.
West, of Cincinnati, was taken by aircare to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he remains in critical condition. Deputies said West was not wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident.
The driver of the SUV, Ronald Riggs, 45, of Harrison, was not injured.
