(Undated) - More than $600 million is how much illegal aliens are costing Indiana taxpayers each year according to a new report from the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
FAIR places the dollar amount at roughly $629 million for the Hoosier state. That figure includes education, healthcare, the justice system, tax receipts and other expenses.
The report claims $134 billion is spent yearly by taxpayers nationwide to subsidize illegal immigration. An estimated $84.2 billion is borne by state and local taxpayers.
In a border state such as Arizona, where a controversial new law aimed at cracking down on illegal immigrants went into effect July 1, the annual cost is $2.5 billion.
