(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The City of Lawrenceburg is helping out Lawrenceburg High School’s prom-goers.
A group of parents are organizing the after prom event at the high school following the prom the evening of April 19. The after prom will be from midnight to 3:00 a.m. the following morning, April 20.
On Monday, Lawrenceburg City Council unanimously agreed to donate $3,000 for the after prom, which will be used to purchase food, entertainment, and door prizes. The money will come from the city’s marketing fund.
About 190 students are expected to attend the after prom.
City Council also agreed to purchase a $200 advertisement in a program book for the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 27.
Vicki Vaughan was a standout player at Lawrenceburg High School before graduating in 1981. Teacher Bob Brookbank, who once coached Vaughan, said she will be the first ever player – boy or girl – from Lawrenceburg to enter the hall.
