(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A man who was caught transporting 50 pounds of marijuana through Dearborn County has been sentenced to prison.
Ashley Love, of Indianapolis, was arrested in November when Indiana State Police caught him with the massive amount of pot during a traffic stop on Interstate 74 near Saint Leon.
Love was sentenced on February 25 in Dearborn Superior Court I to eight years. He’ll do two years in prison, followed by six years of probation. The 33-year-old must also pay $1,166 in court costs, plus other fines and fees.
Love has earlier reached a negotiated plea agreement with prosecutors, pleading guilty to a charge of Dealing in Marijuana 10 Pounds or More (Class C felony).
According to the Indiana Department of Corrections, Love could be released from prison as soon as November 6.
