Boone County Sheriff's Office
(Florence, Ky.) – Two months after he vanished, Boone County Sheriff’s investigators now suspect foul play in Florence resident Terry Hand’s disappearance.
Hand, 42, was reported missing on January 8. He was last seen on January 6, police previously said.
On Friday, detectives in the case said they now suspect foul play.
“Detectives in the case have interviewed nearly 50 of Hand’s family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances in an effort to determine his whereabouts. His sudden disappearance is totally uncharacteristic of him. No one has heard from him since January 6, 2013 and now his birthday has come and gone, again without anyone hearing from him,” said Boone County Sheriff’s spokesman Tom Scheben.
Hand’s 6’04”, 300 pound description has been checked at area jails, hospitals, and shared with other law enforcement agencies that might have discovered an unidentified deceased person. None have been matched to Hand.
Investigators ask that anyone who might have information concerning Terry Hand’s location is asked to call either the Boone County Sheriff’s Office at (859) 334-2175 or Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040.
