(Batesville, Ind.) - State Road 229 in Ripley County will be closing for the Spring and Summer.
The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Monday that SR 229 will be closed between State Roads 48 and 46 near Batesville starting March 21st. SR 229 is expected to reopen in August.
Crews with Sunesis Construction of Ohio will be working on a $503,318 bridge replacement project over Laughery Creek.
During the closure, no through vehicle traffic will be allowed, however local residents will have access to the point of closure. The official detour – State Roads 48, 129, and 46 – will be marked.
INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone.
