(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – An Indiana State Police trooper had to chase down a drunk driving suspect on Interstate 275, but at a relatively slow speed.

On Friday at about 11:20 p.m., Trooper Kyle Stovall was parked stationary on I-275 northbound between the Carroll Cropper Bridge and the Lawrenceburg/Greendale Exit 16 when a white 2004 Ford Taurus drove past then ran off the shoulder of the road nearly striking the police cruiser, according to ISP Sgt. Noel Houze.

Stovall caught up to the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. At the same time there was another citizen on 911 with Dearborn County Dispatch describing the same vehicle having run off the road into the median in Boone County, Kentucky just prior to entering Indiana.

With the police lights and siren flashing and sounding behind her, the driver continued heading northbound on I-275 at about 40 MPH. The interstate is a 65 MPH zone.

The vehicle eventually stopped at the 20 mile marker of I-275 in Hamilton County, Ohio. The driver, Juana C. Robak, 37, of Cincinnati, was taken into custody without incident.

Robak was transported by a Hamilton County Sheriff’s Deputy for a certified breath test. The results of the test indicated her BAC to be .14.

Robak will be charged in Indiana for Driving Under the Influence (Class C misdemeanor) and Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle (Class D felony). She also faces Driving Under the Influence charges in Ohio.
