(Dover, Ind.) - Construction crews will close North Dearborn Road for three months starting March 25.
North Dearborn Road began undergoing a reconstruction and straightening project last summer. The project by Dearborn County will straighten and flatten out a dangerous section of North Dearborn Road.
Among the improvements to be made include better sight distance, replacing the bridge at Slab Camp Creek with a new concrete culvert, and wider 12-foot lanes with shoulders. Eighty percent of the $3 project is being paid with federal transportation funds.
The second half of the construction by Dave O’Mara Contractors will begin March 25 when North Dearborn Road is closed between Hiltz Road and State Road 1 in Dover. The closure is expected to last until sometime in June.
