The 17-year-old from Rising Sun is set to go to trial in Sept. 7 in Ohio Circuit Court.
Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard says he will seek the maximum penalty of life without parole against Andrew, who has previously pleaded not guilty. A notice of the prosecution's intention was filed Friday.
Andrew Conley told police he strangled his little brother Conner Conley to death in their home last November. The teen then placed the boy’s body in the trunk of his car, went to visit his girlfriend, then later dumped the body in a wooded area near the Rising Sun City Park.
Because he was a minor when the crime allegedly happened, Conley is not eligible for the death penalty.
Conley has been undergoing psychological evaluation leading up to the trial.
