(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - State Representative Jud McMillin will go to Lawrenceburg City Council Monday evening seeking explanation on why a $600,000 grant for an organization he was once affiliated with was rescinded.
McMillin (R-Brookville) appears on the council’s meeting agenda to discuss the Lawrenceburg 10-County Regional Grant Program grant once awarded to Destination Brookville LLC. City Council rescinded the previously approved grant in February after McMillin’s family involvement with Destination Brookville was discovered.
The money had been budgeted by the city, but not yet sent out when the grant was repealed.
McMillin, a member of the Lawrenceburg Grant Committee, has maintained that he disclosed his ties to the organization. He abstained from voting to recommend the grant last year.
The meeting agenda also includes a representative from Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg.
The city council meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at Lawrenceburg City Hall, 230 Walnut Street.
