(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A proposed ordinance in Dearborn County could limit public access to some records.
The draft ordinance would cut off access to records which are not clearly covered by Indiana’s Open Door Law, taking the discretion away from office holders, such as the county auditor or sheriff’s office.
According to the draft meeting agenda on Dearborn County government’s website, the issue has been removed from Tuesday evening’s meeting agenda for county commissioners. The ordinance could still come up for discussion.
