(Brookville, Ind.) – An alleged drunk driver was arrested after causing an accident on U.S. 52 in Franklin County.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, Steven W. Ison, 24, was driving eastbound on U.S. 52 behind a vehicle driven by Peggy Ast, of Hebron, Kentucky, at about 4:43 p.m. Sunday. As Ast attempted to make a left turn off the highway, her vehicle was struck on the driver side by Ison.
Ison told deputies he attempted to pass Ast on the left after observing Ast’s vehicle display a right turn signal. Ast then told deputies that she had used her left turn signal prior to making the left turn.
It was not reported if either driver suffered injuries.
Ison was arrested for Driving Under the Influence with a BAC Greater Than .08 Percent (Class C misdemeanor) and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class D felony).
