(Greendale, Ind.) - Thirteen people were hurt in a serious accident on Interstate 275 near the Greendale exit on Friday.

At about 5:37 a semi carrying a load of hay overturned in the northbound lanes at the 15.5 mile marker. Six other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Greendale Assistant Fire Chief Nick Myers says there were a total of 13 patients at the scene. Nine patients were treated at the scene and refused transport to the hospital.
Three other victims were taken by ambulance to Dearborn County Hospital. One person was flown by medical helicopter to University of Cincinnati Hospital.
The crash and ensuing cleanup resulted in the closure of I-275 for about three and a half hours.
Greendale Fire/EMS and the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Dept were assisted on the scene by Lawrenceburg EMS, Bright EMS, Whitewater Twp. EMS, University Air Care, Greendale Police Dept, Indiana State Police, Hardintown Towing, and Engel’s Towing.
