(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – An icy winter storm is forecasted for the tri-state Thursday night into Friday morning.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio says a mixture of snow or sleet will begin this evening, then change over to ice which will coat much of the area. A Winter Weather Advisory will be in effect from 8:00 p.m. Thursday through 10:00 a.m. Friday.
Forecasts show .10 to .15 of an inch of ice accumulation in northern areas of the Eagle 99.3 listening area: northern Dearborn and Ripley counties, Franklin County, and most of Hamilton County.
Under .10 of an inch will build up in more southern areas including southern Dearborn and Ripley counties, Ohio, Switzerland, Boone and Gallatin counties.
The weather service warns that light amounts of icing will cause some roads and sidewalks to become slippery. Use caution when outdoors as areas that look wet may be icy. Use caution when driving on ice-covered roads.
Listen to Eagle 99.3 Friday morning for possible school closings or delays.
