(Franklin County, Ind.) - A Franklin County jury has convicted a man who played a game of chicken with a school bus.
Raymond Baker’s two daughters missed the bus the morning of February 27, 2012. Baker reportedly became upset and drove with his two daughters to chase sown the bus.
After the bus driver refused to take his daughters at a non-designated stop, Baker drove his vehicle straight towards the bus on Johnson Fork Road. The bus driver swerved into the other lane of the road to avoid a collision. Nobody was hurt.
In a two-day long trial this week in Franklin Circuit Court, Baker, 54, was found guilty for two counts of Neglect of a Dependant, the Brookville American-Democrat reports. The counts related to his daughters, who were in the vehicle with him at the time of the incident.
Jurors did acquit Baker for 36 counts of Criminal Recklessness, relating to each child aboard the school bus.
Baker will be sentenced March 12. He faces up to three years in prison.
