A missing elderly woman suffering from Alzheimers has been found alive.

 

Blanche Cook was reported missing Monday evening after she had gone on a walk near Spangler Road in Dillsboro. The 78-year-old from nearby Moores Hill remained missing as of early Tuesday morning.

 

Dispatchers say Cook was located at a church near Lake Dilldear in Dillsboro just after 10:00 a.m.

 

Cook was in stable condition and was taken to Dearborn County Hospital for some treatment, said dispatchers.

(Moores Hill, Ind.) - First responders in Dearborn County are searching for a missing Alzheimers patient.

 

Blanche R. Cook, 78, of Moores Hill, was reported missing just before 9:00 Monday night. She was last seen about 3:00 p.m. at a neighbor’s home on the 15300 block of Spangler Road in Dillsboro while going on a walk.

 

“Blanche stated (to her neighbor) she was going to check a tract of 10 acres that she owned across Spangler Road adjacent to 15377 Spangler Road,” a news release from the Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department said.

 

Deputies and Dillsboro Fire and EMS members searched the vicinity overnight, enlisting the help of a bloodhound. A reverse 911 call was put out to residents in the area. Despite the effort, Cook remains missing as of 6:00 a.m. Tuesday.

 

Cook lives on the 14500 block of Schmaltz Road in Moores Hill. She is described as an elderly, white female suffering from Alzheimers disease. She was wearing a dark blue hooded jacket, blue jeans, and a blaze orange knit cap.
