(Brookville, Ind.) - The Indiana Department of Child Services announced today Erin Lambert has been appointed local director of the Franklin and Union Co. offices of DCS. In her new role Erin will set goals and objectives for child welfare management helping to ensure children are protected from abuse or neglect. In addition, she’ll oversee a team of 14 that includes family case managers, supervisors and clerical staff. She’ll also handle general office operations.
“We’re pleased Erin will be managing day-to-day operations in both our Franklin and Union County offices,” said Dave Judkins, DCS’ Deputy Director of Field Operations. “Her practical work experience as both a family case manager and a supervisor will benefit children in her counties for years to come.”
Erin previously worked at the Franklin Co. Mental Health Association. While pursuing an undergraduate degree in social work from Indiana University, she began an internship at the Franklin Co. DCS office in Brookville in 2006. After graduation she accepted a position at the Brookville office as a case manager and worked there for two years. She was promoted to supervisor in 2009.
A life-long Franklin Co. resident, Erin is a graduate of Indiana University, Richmond and has a Master’s Degree in social work from IUPUI.
Erin began her new duties January 7.
