(West Harrison, Ind.) - A home burglary in Dearborn County was foiled by an alert neighbor Wednesday morning.

Indiana State Police say a neighbor noticed a house at 28614 Chappelow Hill Road with an unfamiliar car parked outside.

The neighbor called the homeowner who confirmed that the vehicle did not belong there. The neighbor used their own car to block the driveway so the burglary suspects could not escape and called police.

When officers arrived, they arrested Tracy Turner, 45, and her daughter Mercie Legendre, 30. Both are Harrison residents.

Turner and Legendre are each charged with Theft (Class D felony) and Burglary (Class B felony).

The burglary investigation is being handled by Indiana State Police at the Versailles Post.  Dearborn and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene.
