ECHS Students To Compete In Leadership Conf.

East Central High School Business Professionals of America members.

(St. Leon, Ind.) - The Business Professionals of America chapter at East Central High School has qualified to compete in the 2013 State leadership conference to be held in downtown Indianapolis March 10 through 12.  

 

On Saturday January 12th BPA members attended the district contest in Greensburg, where they competed in competitions.  In Payroll Accounting; Rebecca Weber placed 6th, Hannah Patton placed 8th, Brandon Campbell placed 10th, and Lucas Gramman placed 11th.  In Advanced Accounting; Brandon Campbell placed 5th, Payton Stonefield placed 11th, and Hannah Patton placed 12th. A.J. Waltz placed 3rd in Entrepreneurship. Brittany Begley placed 3rd in Fundamentals of Word Processing and 10th in Desktop Publishing. Jacob Zengerling placed 3rd in Visual Basic. In Fundamental Accounting Ross Henderson placed 10th. Danni McClure placed 3rd in Desktop Publishing. Our Global Marketing team made up of Payton Stonefield, Tyler Seiwert, and Jesse Hamilton took 2nd place. The Broadcast News Production Team consisting of Jake Griffin and Danni McClure took 1st place!

 

“Qualifying for State is a terrific honor for our students. Participation in BPA is an experience all business students should participate in to learn about leadership, competition, skills, and themselves. Competencies highlighted through BPA are all 21st Century skills. Students receive scholarships and opportunities that are highly favored by universities and employers,” said Kelly Pettit, BPA Advisor and business teacher at E.C.H.S.
