(Cincinnati, Oh.) - An early release from prison is being granted to a woman dubbed “The Pregnant Burglar.”
Samantha Brewer, of Harrison, pleaded guilty in June 2010 to charges of burglary, attempted burglary, and child endangerment in Hamilton County. She was then given a four year prison sentence.
Brewer, now 28, was several months into her pregnancy when she committed around 18 burglaries in the Harrison and Cleves areas earlier in 2010 as means of fueling her addiction to painkillers. She sometimes used her young son in the burglaries, sending him into the unoccupied homes through windows so that they could unlock doors for her.
WLWT-TV reports that Brewer was granted release from prison Wednesday. She must complete a six month program called “Pathways” in order to stay free, according to the television station.
Brewer, a married mother of two at the time of her arrest, had given birth to a daughter while in jail prior to her sentencing.
