(Holton, Ind.) – A check on a home incarceration inmate turned into much more when drugs were discovered in her Ripley County residence.
On Monday, Ripley County deputies were called to assist Jackson and Jennings County Community Corrections officers in conducting a home check on Jessica C. Hamilton, who was on home incarceration at a residence located at 5630 West Hopewell Road in Holton.
Hamilton, 35, and Buddy E. Hacker, 32, were each arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine (Class D felony), Possession of Marijuana (Class A misdemeanor), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor). Hamilton was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class D felony), but it remains unclear if she’ll face charges for violating the rules of her home incarceration order in Jackson County.
Both suspects were taken to the Ripley County Jail in Versailles. Hacker posted a $1,050 bond and was released. Hamilton is currently being held on a $2,050 bond.
Ripley County Sheriff Tom Grills commented that his office was more than happy to help out the Corrections Officer.
"Law enforcement, working together, made timely arrest of these offenders," he said.
