Boone County Sheriff's Office

(Walton, Ky.) - Boone County Sheriff’s investigators have released the name of the victim in an alleged kidnapping and murder.

Three men have been arrested for the January 9 murder in which the victim’s remains were dismembered then spread in a Verona field.

Using a description of his clothing, a tattoo, approximate size and weight, and the fact the perpetrators named him, detectives determined the victim was 19-year-old Daniel Delfin, of Walton.

Investigators will rely on DNA comparisons with family members to make a positive identification of the remains.

Sheriff’s detectives said Delfin was targeted by his accused killers because he was a drug dealer in Boone County.
