Electricity has been restored to most Rising Sun residents. Rising Sun Ohio County Schools are still planning to dismiss at 9:00 a.m.

Rising Sun Ohio County Schools will not have school Friday due to the power outage in the city.
School district superintendent Steve Patz says school is dismissing at 9:00 a.m. With an unknown time estimate on when power will be back on, students can't be kept in a school with no electricity all day, he said.
Buses will take students home on their usual routes. Parents are also welcome to pick up their students at school anytime before 9:00 a.m.

(Rising Sun, Ind.) - A power outage is being reported for half of the City of Rising Sun Friday morning.
Any homes in city west of High Street have been in the dark since about 7:00 a.m., according to Ohio County 911.
City utility crews are on working on restoring the electricity, but there was no estimate on when power could be returned.
