(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Eleven local soldiers will receive a warm welcome home this weekend thanks to Lawrenceburg American Legion Post 239.

The Legion is hosting a “Welcome Home Warriors” dinner on Saturday, January 12. It’s being thrown for Dearborn and Ohio County members of the Army, Marines, and Navy who are back from Iraq and Afghanistan, said P.G. Gentrup, the Ohio County Veterans Service Officer and a Legion member.

“This is a great opportunity to come out and say ‘thank you’ and pay tribute to several southeastern Indiana patriots who have helped to defend our freedoms,” Gentrup said, adding plaques will be given to each of the 11 troops.

The event starts at 3:00 p.m. and will continue until 7:00. The Rivertown Rebels will be playing music from 3:00-5:00. There will be a free chicken dinner served starting at 4:00.
