(Burlington, Ky.) - Up to 1,000 Boone County residents were waking up to no electricity Wednesday morning.

A garbage truck struck a utility pole at the intersection of Conrad Lane and Regal Ridge in Burlington at about 4:00 a.m. No injuries were reported in the accident.

Power was lost to many homes in the area. Duke Energy reported just one outage remaining in Boone County as of 6:30 a.m. Owen Electric had less than 20 outages remaining in the area.
