(Milan, Ind.) - What had been speculated in the community since news broke, a Milan woman's death has been deemed a homicide.
An autopsy was performed Monday morning on Nancy Hershman, 68, Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze said.
Hershman was found dead in her home at 607 West Ellis Street in Milan by a relative early Sunday morning.
"At this time investigators are not releasing any details as to how Mrs. Hershman was killed," Houze said, indicating the investigation is ongoing.
No arrests have been announced in connection with Hershman's death.
Investigators are requesting assistance from the public. Anyone who may live in the area near the scene or who may have been driving through the area between 12:30 and 1:00 Sunday morning who may have seen any suspicious vehicles, anyone walking or running in the area, or any other suspicious activity is urged to contact the Indiana State Police Versailles Post at 812-689-5000 or 800-566-6704.
