(Boone County, Ky.) - An explosion rocked a Boone County business and the nearby area on Wednesday morning.

A chemical silo at Givaudan Flavors Corporation on Sam Neace Drive exploded at about 9:30, scattering metal debris across the facility. Fire crews said the blast happened when a truck was offloading product into a storage silo beside the facility.

The fire had been extinguished by the time fire crews from Florence arrived on scene. Luckily, there were no injuries to the plant employees or firefighters.

The explosion remains under investigation.
