(Batesville, Ind.) – Indiana State Police at the Versailles Post say that roads across southeast Indiana are snow covered, slick, and hazardous.
Troopers advised that all roads are open as of 7:00 a.m., but there are still some traffic issues.
The Ripley County Sheriff’s Department is investigating an overturned large straight truck on Interstate 74 eastbound at the 153 mile marker, approximately two miles east of Batesville.
The interstate is open at that location but motorists should use caution and be prepared to stop or make a lane change when wrecker crews begin to remove the vehicle.
Troopers say citizens should avoid unnecessary travel, but use caution if they must hit the road.
Franklin County is under a Level 1 Snow Emergency, also called a Travel Advisory. According to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security that means routine travel may be restricted and citizens should use caution.
