(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - Folks travelling for the Christmas holiday will find lower gas prices locally.
Tracking website CincyGasPrices.com says Monday’s tri-state average for regular unleaded is at $3.22 a gallon. The price marks a decline of about 33 cents over the past month.
In southeast Indiana, prices range from $3.14 along U.S. 50 in Lawrenceburg, Greendale, and Aurora, to $3.29 in Versailles and Brookville.
This Christmas Eve’s average price is also about 10 cents lower than last Christmas.
AAA says nearly one-in-three Americans will be on the road between now and the New Year. The number of travelers is up 1.6 percent and nearly back to levels not seen since the start of the Great Recession.
