(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - The City of Lawrenceburg is considering funding needed repairs and renovations at Lawrenceburg High School.
Lawrenceburg Community Schools Superintendent Karl Galey went to City Council in November to tell them of structural issues with the high school gym and other needed facility upgrades. The estimated costs of replacing the gym and academic wing total $42 million.
Galey said the gym’s foundation is shifting. Engineers say the gym may have only a few years of life remaining.
Lawrenceburg City Council meets publicly Wednesday, December 19 at 6:00 p.m. at Lawrenceburg City Hall to hear more information. No decision has been made on the city assisting with funding.
Galey has also approached Greendale city officials about the proposed project.
