Hunter Legrand Carroll County Detention Center |
(Gallatin County, Ky.) – A northern Kentucky man who was allegedly high when he crashed his SUV head-on into an ambulance has been charged with murder.
Hunter Legrand, 22, of Warsaw, crossed the center line on U.S. 127 in Gallatin County on July 24. His SUV then collided with a Gallatin County EMS ambulance that was transporting patient John Little, 59, of Dry Ridge to a hospital.
The crash resulted in Little’s death at University Hospital in Cincinnati. Two EMTs in the ambulance were also injured as the ambulance flipped and came to a rest on its top. Legrand was also seriously injured, but has recovered from his injuries.
On Wednesday, prosecutors charged Legrand with murder, driving under the influence, two counts of assault, leaving the scene of an accident and criminal mischief.
Kentucky State Police investigators say Legrand had done drugs a short time before getting behind the wheel. They had to await drug test results before the charges could be filed this week.
LeGrand is being held at the Carroll County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
