(Vevay, Ind.) - Switzerland County police are hot on the trail of two men who have been causing trouble in the area in recent weeks.
Sheriff Roy Leap says his office has been working with Pennsylvania State Police to identify two men wanted in connection with a rash of thefts in the East Enterprise area last week. The suspects are Jamie Blough, Jr., 19, of Dunlo, Penn. and Joshua Kerns, 21, of St. Michael, Penn.
A truck belonging to local resident Nate Bovard was recovered in a reservoir close to Blough’s family residence. Investigators from Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office sent photos obtained from video surveillance in Switzerland County to the Pennsylvania State Police who were able to identify him. Subsequent investigation led to police identifying Kerns as the second suspect.
Blough has been arrested in Pennsylvania on a parole violation warrant out of that state for failure to report to his parole officer after being convicted in Pennsylvania on charges of theft. Kerns, also believed to be back in Pennsylvania, has not been arrested as of Wednesday.
The investigation is ongoing in Switzerland County, Leap said. The duo may also be connected to thefts in Dearborn and Ohio counties.
Police’s pursuit of the two men has become well known in Switzerland County. East Enterprise Elementary School was forced to lock its exterior doors on Friday as police searched for the with the two men in the area.
Sheriff Leap asks that anyone who has additional information contact the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office at (812) 427-3636.
