(Miamitown, Oh.) - A Miamitown bar owner is accused of operating without a liquor license.

Ronald C. Wells, Sr. owns the Best Damn Bar, 7954 Harrison Avenue, where the liquor license expired in September, according to the Ohio Investigative Unit.

Authorities carried out a search warrant there on Friday before charging Wells, 76, with Illegal Sales and Keeper of the Place.

During the search, police seized $94 in cash, more than 1,100 bottles or cans of beer, 83 bottles of liquor, and 38 bottles of wine.

“These locations are often the source of problems including drug use and other criminal activity,” said Ohio Investigative Unit Agent-in-Charge Brent Devery.  “While a majority of the business owners do follow the appropriate steps in obtaining and keeping their liquor permits, there are those businesses that unfortunately choose to operate unfairly.”

Wells, of Miamitown, faces up to six months in jail and fines up to $1,000 if convicted.

Another person in the bar, Steven, J. Cameron II, 27, of Cleves, was charged with Drug Abuse.

“This is another example of how partnerships within law enforcement can work in favor our residents and business owners,” said Colerain Police Department Chief Daniel Meloy.
