(Osgood, Ind.) - Two Ohio men have been arrested on drug and theft charges in Ripley County.
Monday morning, officers received a call for suspicious activity at the Laughery Valley Co-Op on U.S. 421 in Osgood.
A traffic stop of a vehicle was conducted. A search turned up evidence of meth related material. The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Team was summoned to assist in the removal of that material.
Rodney Chadwell, 48, of New Richmond, Ohio, was charged with Theft and Illegal Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia. Bryan Arthur, 40, of Sardinia, Ohio, is accused of Conspiracy to Commit Theft and Illegal Possession of Anhydrous Ammonia.
Anhydrous Ammonia is a key ingredient in manufacturing methamphetamine.
The sheriff’s office said the case remains under investigation. Charges are being forwarded to the county prosecutor for formal charging.
Arthur was ordered held in the Ripley County Jail on $2,050 bond while Chadwell's bond was set at $1,050.
