(Cleves, Oh.) - A woman who caused a fatal crash in Cleves is being charged with Vehicular Manslaughter.
Eliza Brown, 26, was charged Tuesday in Hamilton County Municipal Court for an October 26th crash on U.S. 50 near the intersection of Ohio 128.
Rebecca Haines, 57, of North Bend was a passenger in Brown’s car. She died at the hospital from the injuries she suffered in the wreck.
At the time of the crash, Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office accident investigators said that Brown made an illegal left turn onto U.S. 50 from the Kroger parking lot. Her 1996 Toyota Camry was then hit by a second passenger vehicle. The impact sent the Camry across the center line where it was struck in the passenger side by a Ford work truck.
Brown was hospitalized briefly following the crash. The other two drivers were not injured.
Deputies said that alcohol or drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash.
Brown’s arraignment is scheduled for Monday, December 10 at 12:30 p.m.
