(Cincinnati, Oh.) – The Christmas season is beginning with a proposed budget taking money away from every department in Hamilton County.
County Commissioners will trim $14 million from their 2013 budget – with the idea of closing an equally large budget deficit – when they meet Monday. Hamilton County officials say the budget is being impacted by the loss of local government funds from the state.
Next year's spending plan includes across-the-board, seven percent cuts for nearly every department. Some departments required by state law to be funded at certain levels will be.

WCPO-TV reports the cuts could mean 250 county employees being laid off from the county's current 2,200 employees, according to the county budget office.
