(Florence, Ky.) – Time is running out for anybody with information about an unsolved Florence double murder to share the info and claim a hefty reward.
Bill and Peggy Stephenson, 74, were found murdered in the condominium on Ridge Edge Court on Memorial Day weekend of 2011. So far, the case has gone without an arrest and the trail growing colder by the day.
At an August 29 press conference, the Stephenson’s adult children announced a dramatic increase in the reward they were offering for information that lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for the slayings. The award amount was increase to $100,000.
However, the large sum of money has not drawn any arrests in the investigation. The award was set with an expiration after 90 days, or November 29, 2012.
“The Boone County Sheriff’s Office assigned a dedicated phone line (859-334-8496) and created a page on their website (www.boonecountyky.org/so) for the influx of tips we anticipated receiving,” said sheriff’s office spokesman Tom Scheben
“Those tips came in abundance but have yet to net an arrest.”
Sheriff Michael A. Helmig and the Stephensons are again urging anyone with information concerning this heinous act to come forward in the next two weeks before time runs out.
