(Greendale, Ind.) - The owners of the 163-year-old distillery in Lawrenceburg will get a tax break from the City of Greendale.

Lawrenceburg Distillers Indiana went to the city council asking for a 10-year abatement, saying the break would allow the distillery to add nearly one dozen new jobs.

Council members approved the $842,000 abatement on a 5-2 vote earlier this month.

The company would not agree to a provision requiring all the new employees to be Dearborn County residents.
