(St. Leon, Ind.) – Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools Board of Trustees will meet Thursday evening with a calendar decision on their agenda.
The board will decide on approval of the 2013-2014 school calendar. The school corporation’s calendar decision drew much interest earlier this year when Sunman-Dearborn considered adopting a balanced calendar.
Votes will also be held Thursday on a 2012-2013 master teacher contract and on using money from the district’s rainy day fund to buyout sick days.
The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. at East Central High School’s cafeteria.
In Tuesday’s election, two new school board members were elected for four-year terms on the seven-person board. John McKay defeated incumbent David Anderson in the Jackson Township race, 53 to 47 percent. Joseph Graf won over Michael May in York Township, 60 to 40 percent.
In Harrison Township, incumbent Brandon “Dusty” Burress was re-elected over Clifford Giltner, 57 to 43 percent.
