(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Parents and fans of the Lawrenceburg High School football team want the players to know they are behind them as the team leaves for the biggest game of the season Friday.
Lawrenceburg is playing at Paoli in an IHSAA State Tournament sectional championship game. The program is seeking its first sectional title since 2005.
Earlier this week, Lawrenceburg City Council voted unanimously to donate $1,000 to the team so that they could rent a charter bus from Crown Charter for the nearly three hour bus trip to and from their game.
Fans are asked to meet at the high school as players board the team’s bus at 2:30 p.m. The fans will then line U.S. 50 through downtown Lawrenceburg as the bus departs at 2:45. Lawrenceburg police and firefighters will provide an escort on the highway to the city limits.
The Tigers won’t get back into town until very early Saturday morning, sometime between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m. Fans are welcomed to meet the players when the bus returns to the high school, win or lose.
Eagle 99.3 will broadcast the #11 Tigers (10-1) versus the #12 Paoli Rams (9-2). Pregame coverage begins at 7:40 p.m. with the kickoff scheduled for 8:00. The game can be heard locally on 99.3 FM and streaming worldwide at www.EagleCountryOnline.com. Eagle 99.3 will also share updates on Twitter.
